What will be needed to make Katla Jhal?

  • Three fish fillets, one teaspoon of turmeric, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, 4 teaspoons of mustard oil, one potato cut lengthwise, 1/3 teaspoon of turmeric, one and a half teaspoons of turmeric, one and a half teaspoons of chili powder, a little water, mustard oil, one teaspoon , 5 raw chillies, salt to taste, a pinch of sugar, two cups of water, 4 teaspoons of mustard paste.

Method : of making Katla jhal
First of all, the Katla fish should be well coated with salt and turmeric. Now marinate for 15 minutes. Now you have to take the spices. Beat the mustard with 2 spoons of chopped chilli. Before mixing the mustard, it should be soaked with a little water and salt for a while. This will reduce the bitterness of the mustard. On the other hand, when the masala is mixed, it should be kept in a separate place.

Now add oil to fry the fish in the pan.  When the oil is hot enough, deep fry the fish in it.  Then the potatoes cut into long pieces should be fried in that oil.  Now mix a little turmeric with it and fry it and keep it from the pan.

Then take a bowl and make a paste with one and a half teaspoons of turmeric, one and a half teaspoons of chilli powder and a little water.  On the other hand, one more spoon of mustard oil should be added in the oil fried in the pan.  Now when it is hot, reduce the heat and add turmeric and lankara paste.

After sauteing it for a few minutes, add the fried potatoes with raw chillies.  After boiling for some time add salt and nominal sugar to two cups of water.  When the water boils, after cooking it with mustard batter for a few minutes, add the fried fish. Now after cooking it for 5 to 6 minutes on low heat, our favorite Katla jhal will be ready.
